The natural gas pipeline of Serakhs Gas Refinery to Neka Power Plant crossed Golestan province, then located in the eastern of Mazandaran Province,
from 1974-1976. In 1981, Gorgan as the first city, and Amirabad (Gorgan), Qezeljeh (Azadshahr),
and Yasaghi (Kordkouy), as the first villages, were blessed with natural gas. At that time, Golestan province was the subset of Iran's 4th gas district (Khorasan province).
After the establishment of Golestan province, Golestan Gas Company was also founded in 1999, headed by Mohsen Arab Maghsoudi in Gorgan city.
The company started working in a rental building on Danesh Boulevard in early December 1999.
The Company included 16 towns and 24 villages laying gas pipes consisting of 1490 km gas networks, 76500 branches, 106000 subscribers, and 117000 households.
